Crystalline Silicon on Glass next generation solar photovoltaic
Scott Bilby and Matthew Wright interview Dr. Renate Egan, Technology Director at CSG Solar. Many next generation solar panels are relying on Tellurium, Indium, Gallium, Selenium. If you've never heard of them, that's because they are rare elements and shortages could stymie the goal of zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2020. Even silicon wafers could be in short supply, because of the expensive processing required to make them. Enter Crystalline Silicon on Glass (CSG) an inexpensive process using only 1% as much silicon.
