Mass Coral Bleaching on the Australian Great Barrier Reef began just as atmospheric Carbon Dioxide began to rise noticeably. When colourful Coral Reefs go white, most other reef creatures depart, and so do the tourists.

Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide will need to be reduced to around 320 parts per million to keep Coral Reefs healthy.
